OUR WELLNESS INITIATIVES

The goal of the wellness initiatives are to distribute digital and physical content promoting holistic wellness to ensure students in the PA program feel supported and develop sustainable emotional practices during the PA program and beyond. These materials intend to normalize challenges PA students face, while teaching students how to healthily cope and build community.

Monthly Check-In

Peer-reviewed by a mental health professional to ensure accuracy and sensitivity. Topics include:

  • HAWC & campus events

  • Positive coping mechanisms

  • Self-care check-ins

  • Wellness resources

  • Education feature â€‹

Cardinal Mentor Program

Connect current 3rd year students on clinical rotations with MCPHS alumni to provide support and mentorship as they transition into the workforce and prepare for the board certification exam

Pick-Me-Up

The high volume climate of PA school can increase risk of anxiety and burnout. When students need it most, HAWC will provide snacks, stress management activities, and confidence-boosting notes written by classmates to nourish their basic needs.

These times include:

  • First round of exams and finals for 1st and 2nd year students

  • First day of anatomy cadaver lab

  • End of Rotation (EOR) and End of Curriculum (EOC) exams for 3rd year students
